Is it possible to add a gadget that figures out a range of reps per workout?  For example, Cindy....

Can you figure (excluding the high end reps of several hundred that are entered) the percentage of reps that members completed to fall into the bottom 40% and the number of reps needed to complete to fall into the top 60%?

great idea - and one that is on the dev calendar for production. i'll take a look and see how quickly i can push it out for testing (i also noticed a very high rep count for a RX'd cindy that i've just deleted)...

i've just added an automatic 'average' figure - each ranking now displays the average value for the ranking - if this looks to be stable i'll roll out the percentile calculator.

Thank you so much!  We are trying to implement a volutary fitness program at our PD.  Across the country many departments still use the Cooper Inst. as the standard for fitness.  A lot of the programs classify the participants based on whether they fall into the overall 40% or 60% percentile of the Cooper test.  I am trying to provide the option of a Crossfit Test where one could be judged based on their performance in a workout compared to the logsitall data and relate it to the data based on the participants percentile.

Thank you so much for such a quick response!

laramy: glad to help. If you have a moment, please test the average calculator - then post again with results (hopefully it works...) and then i'll roll out the percentile calculator.

I'm also working on an interesting scorecard function that might be useful too...

Bill,

I think I am looking in the wrong place for the average calculator.  Can you provide a map to get me there?  I was searching the Rankings sections and also looked in the Summary section.

Laramy: you have to pull up a ranking first - then on the results page you should see an average value displayed. If this isn't showing for you please let me know.

I see it now!  I was looking over to the right.  I am off to plug in some other workouts and see the average value on them.  It looks great though!

Looks great!  This is very helpful.  On a side note, the top poster on Cindy has 660 reps entered for the value when everyone else has entered rounds completed for this value.  In the comments, it says rounds completed 22.  When the average is computed, how bad does this skew the rankings average?  Or do you have a control that pushes out wild figures?

laramy: i don't (yet) have a function to ignore 'out of range' entries. for now i flag the ones that are way off to not be included in published rankings (usually due to simple entry error) that i find during normal operation (or those reported to me). if anyone would like to volunteer for this - i wouldn't mind having a second editor.
